Mohamed Salah Offers Regret to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Salah apologised to the team following the controversy from his televised remarks.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match after voicing frustrations and claiming his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the situation. He feels the outburst were not intended to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
