Australian rugby league's authority has announced that players who enter the “counterfeit” R360 league will be barred for a decade.

R360, set to start in October 2026, is aiming to attract rugby union and rugby league players with hefty contracts and a reduced game calendar.

Prominent rugby league stars have reportedly received offers by the breakaway group, which will include six to eight men's clubs and four women's sides operating from large metropolitan areas worldwide.

The Samoan the player, who plays for his NRL club in the NRL, has confirmed he has had negotiations involving R360.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Zac Lomax, Payne Haas and Gray are also believed to be thinking about signing the new competition.

Several leading union countries, including Australia, earlier announced a prohibition on R360 recruits participating in global fixtures.

“We have consulted our clubs and we've responded strongly,” said the league's chairman the official.

“Unfortunately, there will persistently exist organizations that attempt to hijack our code for potential financial gain.

“They don't invest in pathways or the development of talent. They simply exploit the dedication of existing bodies, putting players at risk of economic hardship while benefiting financially.

“They are, in reality, imitating the sport.”

The league is launched by former England World Cup winner Tindall and backed by commercial backers.

After the possible union bans were declared earlier, it said: “We want to work together as a component of the worldwide fixture list.

“The series is arranged with bespoke schedules for both genders and the organization will permit participants for test matches, as specified in their deals.”

The new league will apply for endorsement for its proposals from the international authority, union's administrative organization, at its council meeting in the coming year.
