Recent Refinery Attack Shows 'Absolutely No Safe Locations in the Russian Far Hinterland'

Ukrainian drones have struck the Russian Bashneft facility in the city of Ufa, positioned some 1,400 km from Ukraine, triggering explosions and a inferno, per a source in Ukraine's Security Service.

This constitutes the latest SBU deep strike in the region in the recent weeks. Those operations demonstrate that there are no secure zones in the far hinterland of the Russia.

Zelenskyy Urges Trump to Facilitate Truce in Ukraine

Moscow's assaults on Ukrainian territory resulted in the deaths of several civilians on Saturday and disrupted electricity to sections of the south Odesa area, as stated by Ukrainian officials.

Two people died in a place of worship in Kostyantynivka when it was hit, per regional officials.

In Russia's adjacent territory of Belgorod, a lorry operator was killed by a drone assault, according to municipal sources.

Energy Repair Operations in the Capital

Operations continued on the weekend to repair energy infrastructure in Kyiv, after strikes by Moscow.

Power had been restored to more than 800,000 residents by Saturday and the biggest power firm stated the primary work to recover electricity was concluded though certain disruptions persisted.

Air Defence Operations and UAV Jamming

The Ukrainian air defences downed or disrupted 54 out of 78 UAVs from Russia sent towards Ukraine in the dark hours, the military announced on Saturday.

Russia's military authorities stated it eliminated forty-two Ukrainian drones over its own soil.

Cuban Government Denies Claims of Sending Troops to Ukraine

Havana on the weekend denied US allegations it has sent soldiers to engage in the hostilities, while declaring officials in Havana "do not have precise details about Cuban nationals" involved "independently" or "within the troops of the conflicting parties".

The government department in the capital announced twenty-six Cubans had been sentenced to prison terms varying between five up to fourteen years for mercenary activity since last September when reports spread of Cubans being sent to the battlefield in Ukraine.

Surrender Initiative Initiative Reports Information on Cuban National Recruitment

The program, a Ukrainian government program that promotes enemy combatants to lay down arms, reported in May: "We have confirmed the names and personal details of over a thousand Cubans who entered into agreements with the Russian military in recently."

The Cuban foreign ministry commented of Cuban nationals who might be participating: "Undeniably that not a single one have the support, dedication, or consent of the government in Havana for their actions."
