The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
