US Armed Forces Executes Lethal Attack in Pacific, Leading to Four Deaths

According to a senior defense spokesperson, the US military carried out a lethal kinetic engagement on a vessel in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.

“A US joint task force carried out a lethal kinetic strike on a craft operated by a terrorist group in international waters. Intelligence verified the vessel was traveling along a known narco-trafficking route and was involved in illicit drug transport. All four male narco-terrorists were killed, and no US military forces were harmed.”

Context and Recent Strikes

This announcement comes a day after an announcement regarding a naval blockade of all targeted oil tankers to and from Venezuela. In that announcement on social media, the American leader accused Venezuela of using oil revenues to fund drug trafficking and criminal activities, vowing to escalate the military buildup.

Only on the previous day, the Pentagon said it had carried out strikes on three boats suspected of trafficking drugs in the Pacific, killing eight people. Beginning on 2 September, over 20 strikes have killed at least 99 people, the majority off the coast of Venezuela.

Administration Justifies Tactics Amidst Scrutiny

The administration has encountered increasing demands to make public video of a September 2nd vessel attack. But, officials have declined to do so. The administration has supported its efforts as a success, arguing it has prevented drugs from entering US shores and has dismissed concerns that it is stretching the limits of legal military action.

While the administration has said the campaign is about halting drugs headed to the US, comments from a senior aide appeared to confirm a wider geopolitical objective. In a recent interview, the senior advisor remarked the leader “aims to keep on blowing boats up until the Venezuelan president cries uncle.”

This indicates the military campaign may be linked to a push to oust Venezuela's current leadership.
